Exciting exchange, intensive networking, and international contacts: That's what we experienced at several high-level events in 2019. As an "almost-not-startup," we participated as an exhibitor at the HR Roadshow, Bits & Pretzels, and the Singapore Fintech Festival in the last quarter of 2019. This helps us to keep our finger on the pulse when it comes to international human resources topics as well as technology-related questions.

With Barack Obama, the Bits & Pretzels Conference 2019 received impressive celebrities. Our team from Mystery Minds was present at the event and even in the middle of it with its booth. And followed Obama's speech with particular interest. He didn't take long to put the topics on the agenda that we also stand for: "There is great added value in different perspectives, experiences, and competencies," said the former US president. Obama also pointed out the importance of knowledge and digitization: "Large organizations must actively promote learning, new perspectives, and new technologies.

INNOVATIONS AT THE HR ROADSHOW

Our presence at the HR Roadshow in Hamburg, Munich, Düsseldorf, and Berlin was no less exciting. The series of events, sponsored by the Federal Association of German Start-ups and the German Association for Human Resources Management, brought the latest innovations from the HR tech sector to the podium - and also facilitated numerous exciting discussions and ideas. At our booth, specialists and executives from large companies as well as young entrepreneurs who have just founded a start-up met.

LEARNINGS FROM THE SINGAPORE FINTECH FESTIVAL

The Singapore Fintech Festival, in which we participated in the German Pavilion as part of a cooperation with Deutsche Bank, had a very unique character: The exchange with players from the fintech scene in Asia also brought a lot of new things for us as a company that has meanwhile grown beyond the start-up phase. Cultural subtleties and differences, the high importance of hierarchies in Asia, the shaping of group dynamics, and the high level of innovative spirit and openness to ideas: This is a significant part of Asia. In Europe, we could benefit from some of these approaches - especially when it comes to a hands-on mentality. At the same time, we know that we can certainly appreciate certain standards in Germany, such as data protection or the right of co-determination for works councils.

BYE BYE 2019 - LOOKING FORWARD TO 2020

With these great events, a successful, exciting year 2019 is ending for us. At the same time, we know one thing for sure: 2020 will not be any duller. On the contrary, we are looking forward to new opportunities and even more interesting opportunities for international networking. After all, it's not only the users of our platforms who benefit from new valuable contacts but also ourselves.
