Networking – From Enigma to Catalyst for Better Cooperation

Networking in company

It’s never been so easy to get to know new people – and yet it’s often still so difficult, in our private lives as in our professional ones. But it’s not only employees who benefit from better networking – it’s the companies who employ them, too. This is where Mystery Lunch – a platform that brings colleagues together for “blind date” lunches – comes in. We’ve learned a great deal since the founding of the company in 2013, and have created this blog in the hope of sharing this knowledge with you.

How can HR managers promote the exchange of knowledge and ideas between highly specialized experts in companies and, in the process, make a contribution to project success? How can companies succeed in reconciling digital forms of communication with the importance of personal contact, and how can they promote a thriving culture of internal communication?

These are just a few of the key questions with which we seek to engage on this blog. Our aim is to provide managers and relevant employees (primarily those working in the areas of human resources and internal communication) with an easy source of tried-and-tested information for their day-to-day work. Rather than dry facts, we offer information with tangible utility value embedded within interesting stories.

The following themes form particular areas of focus:

  1. Networking in companies. We discuss the opportunities that arise from the cross-departmental sharing of ideas and from the coming together of colleagues in different fields to participate in dialogue. We want to show you how to propel projects more effectively by breaking down silo mentalities within your organization.
  2. Company culture and staff retention: The ability to get to know new people, enjoy a coffee or lunch together, and develop new ideas are all things employees judge as important. Those who enjoy a good rapport with colleagues often remain much more loyal to their companies than those who don’t. Accordingly, the blog aims to provide suggestions for promoting the establishment and expansion of employee networks and improving company culture.
  3. Technology and the “human factor”: In the digital age, online platforms play an important role in the fields of knowledge and sharing and project management – yet it is only very seldom that they are able to replace the role of personal contact completely. We want to share insights as to how technologies can complement – not contradict – human contact among colleagues, and to show how both employees and companies can benefit from this interplay.

The blog will publish articles on these and other similar topics on a regular basis. If you have ideas for articles or would like to receive information on a particular area, simply drop us a line.
